HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF)- A Madison County judge set an August 5 trial date for the man charged in connection to a shootout with Huntsville Police officers. Samuel Ward is charged with two counts of attempted murder. The shootout happened in 2011 after a traffic stop. Investigators say Ward shot at police. Officers returned fire, hitting Ward.
